TSR Barefoot Challenge

Camp TSR’s New Camp Director!

Cam TSRMany of you already know and love him… that’s right MAX BIALICK is this year’s super rad camp director.  With six years under his belt at TSR and three Summers working Camp, he is ready to take on the challenge and make this the best summer you campers have had at TSR! GET EXCITED! For those who don’t know him, Max is a fighting Baylor Bear studying business in the great town of Waco, Texas. He grew up on Lake McQueeney and his love for the lake runs deep.  He loves shredding the cable lake and wakesurfing behind the boat. He has two pet bearded dragons named Carlos and Charlie and his favorite animal is the honey badger. Camp Director Max

A letter from Max (also in the 2012 camp booklets, but in case you haven’t seen it and want a little summer inspiration):

A Letter to my  Future Campers,

Summer is nearing my friends, and the waters of TSR are not capable of shredding themselves. Nor am I capable of playing a raging game of Trampoline dodge-ball alone (I’ve tried).

TSR Beckons to you bro’s and bro’ettes.  Al you must do is answer this call to greatness, and we will have the summer to rule them all.  A feeling of great anticipation is building around the camp houses as summer nears, and it is my duty to ensure that each and every one of you are present when this anticipation releases itself in the form of the raw energy of Camp TSR. Summer Camp Texas

Get ready to wakeboard, waterski, wakeskate, kneeboard, skateboard, rock climb, stand up paddle board, jump dodge ball, tumble, tug of war, capture flags and more! We have an amazing summer planned and can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Answer the call,

Max Bialick

Camp Director, Fearless LeaderSummer Camp

About ODWS:

What is it? One Day Without Shoes is  the day we raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life by going without shoes.

Why? Millions of children live without shoes.  Many are exposed to injury and disease each day, and are not allowed to go to school without shoes.

How does it work? Just take ‘em off, and when people ask why, tell them.  Go without shoes all day then head to TSR at 5:00 for the Barefoot Challenge.  Spreading awareness is easy and changes lives.  Join us in going without shoes so kids don’t have to!

A competitive spirit!

Camp TSRThursday was a little slower getting out of bed for our crew, but no worries, after a awesome kick-start breakfast from the camp cook they were ready to go!

The Slayshers! Kaleb tore the skatepark to shreds on his bike today! Those ramps didn’t know what hit them! Gabe, or padawon, taught the group his sensei skills as well as the game of NINJA! Cookie, a return camper for a few days, came back and busted out his wakeskating skills and landed an ollie 180! Aden played some serious pool until it got “warm” enough to get in the water, when he busted out his wakeskate. The entire group got to experiment with a Slingshot kite today too. It is made for kiteboarding and the wind was prime for our kids to fly it! Camp TSR

Triple Crowners had a slew of competitors! Anna B competed in grom and Anna M competed in girls and landed her 360 across the box! Patrick is now hitting two obstacles! The funbox and the incline rail are in his bag of tricks! Ali busted out the sickest full pull across 100% of the Snake Rail! Hissssss! Isaac slammed the funbox with the grindbase of his board and conquered it! Nick made a full lap today and was so pumped, he decided to slide over the funbox just to celebrate! Beau is working on expanding his shuv it on a wakeskate to a 3 shuv and push that board around an extra 180 degrees. He also hit the kicker and launched himself into the low atmosphere, to return to us shortly thereafter safely!

Camp TSR

The Fooshizzles! Drew learned an ollie on the wakeboard in the Little Bro! Sydney worked on riding switch and Destiny rode the Little Bro and built some pretty sweet sand castles with Kayllie on the beach.

Triple K had an awesome day chilling, route planning and STING PONG! Competition on the tennis table boosted to epic proportions and the stings ran wild! No one is safe! Alec shredded with his usual style and Christian worked on his riding and carving! Alex pushed large amounts of water off of his board and splashed into the air! Rodrigo, has a newfound talent, the dude can SING! He’s been dancing and singing almost non-stopCamp TSR today! Blake was nervous but performed great on the ramps in competition tonight! Aiden found himself competing with the best of the best wakeskaters Brett Little and Aaron Reed tonight! He did great and, I must say, rode with true grit.

The campers loved seeing the highflying pro wakeboarders and enjoyed the competitive spirit of the evening! Soon though, the best part will happen, SMORES!

Fired up!

Camp TSRThe Slayshers were fired up this morning and ready to learn some new tricks on the cable and behind the boat! Aden learned to scooter down several new and increasingly larger ramps at the skatepark, and is becoming quite the accomplished “sting pong”/pool shark. Kaleb learned to longboard and was introduced to the laid back form of skating! He also climbed 3/4 of the rockwall in his summit attempts this afternoon! Gabe learned to ride a bike down some new ramps and had a great time scootering and longboarding. Camp TSR

The Triple Crowners are learning some awesome style and skills out on the cable and Ali is preparing for her competition run tomorrow night! Ali tried a 540 off the kicker and came SO close to sticking it! She is learning very quickly. Anna B busted out the slalom ski behind the boat and carved that thing for all it was worth! Beau attempted a front roll to face plant tumble turn today behind the boat and had everyone cracking up with his antics. Class clown award fo sho! Anna M is an inch from completing the handle pass 360 over the box. Isaac shredded dry land today on the balance trainer known as an Indo Board! Patrick launched himself off of the top of the wake behind the boat today and almost cleared the wake! Nick got up behind the boat and rode like a Camp TSRchamp!

Triple K unleashed Aiden into the wakeskate world on the big cable today, he really turned heads with his amazing surface spins, one after another. He also successfully got an Indy-grab wake to wake behind the boat! Christian got back on a wakeboard today and kept working on his control skills and riding abilities. Alex worked on wakeskating and gaining the much needed control while going strapless. Rodrigo took a riding test by trying out a wakesurf board today for the first time! Catching the force of the wave behind his board he was able to ride without a rope! Blake worked on making his tantrum HUGE andCamp TSR
also rocked the wake surf board. Alec worked on his frontside 180, his toeside slayshing and also got out on the wakesurf board.

The girlie Foshizzles are learning tricks and making cheers like no one could believe! Sydney now lands the fun box every time she hits it. Drew taught some serious ballet and hip hop moves today on the Wahoo’s upstairs stage. She is such a ham! Destiny took a little spill on the skate park but didn’t let that slow her down from riding the Little Bro and swimming like a little pool shark with her bud Aden.

Overall, A GREAT DAY!

360′s, Tantrums, Ollies and More!

Camp TSRWe can’t believe Day 2 is over already! Tuesday was jam packed with sweet adventures, highlights and laughs that are about to come your way. I have no idea what has plagued the many kids of Camp TSR but the infectious, contagious, unstoppable, addicting spread of laughter has filled the air…Jokes, riddles, pranks, stories, and goofiness aside, it still permeates everything. So awesome. Camp TSR

Team Triple K has Rodrigo perfecting and attempting a huge tantrum off of the kickers! He is very close! Aiden is rocking the loaded ollie with the handle at his hip. He is getting the motions down for a toeside air trick! Alec busted some sweet 180′s off of the kicker, becoming his go-to and signature move! Christian has become the sting pong champion of the world today, not only because of his feared stings…but also because of the many stings he takes and continues to play! Alex busted out a wakeskate for the first time today behind the boat and was killin it! Blake is now throwing grabs in with his Camp TSRtantrums and working on styling them out!

The Slayshers started strong with Aden coming out this morning motivated and ready to ride his wakeskate. He rode behind the boat with Jesse again and is now ollieing on the cable system. Gabe got a chance to get out and wakeskate with Jesse too! He is also learning wake jumps behind the boat. Kaleb is successfully shredding the waters of the Little Bro all the way up and back on a wakeboard!

Sydney attempted the incline rail and wake to wake jumps behind the boat and is close! Another day of practicing will do some benefit to her confidence and lead to success! Drew learned how to turn on her edges on the little bro and worked on carving to prep for the big cable! Destiny made it to the top on the rock wall today and wakeboarded with style on the Little Bro!

The Triple CCCrrroooowwwnnnnneeeerrrrsss had a sweet day with Ali knocking down a huge 360Camp TSR spin off of the kicker!! Anna also threw a three across the fun box! Anna B rode a slalom water ski all the way around the cable (which runs at 19 mph….) actually a very difficult feat! Beau busted out a shuv it on the wakeskate and is pumped to land it over and over! Patrick hit the fun box today! Isaac is working on his wake style with flashy dock starts in the bag! He jumps off of the bench, pulls the handle to his hip and rides away like the big dogs now! Nick is making it around the cable more confidently and is to the fourth buoy of his quest to the 5th!
